VANDA & MARIN - THE BORDERLINES

Today we present to you a musical couple: Vanda & Marin.

Vanda was born and raised in the Town of Korčula. From an early age her father, a musician, introduced her to piano and guitar and took her to many gigs where he was playing music with his fellow musicians. Vanda wrote her first song when she was six years old and she has been writing songs and playing the guitar ever since.

Marin was born in Kaštela, near Split. Marin also grew up in a musical environment, since his father was an opera singer. He started to play guitar at a very early age and he started guitar lessons when he was only four years old. He became a classical guitar professor, a jazz composer and a flamenco player.

Vanda and Marin met each other in beautiful Korčula Town on a hot summer night, when Vanda while playing alone, invited him to join her. The spark they felt was both love and music entwined, so they started playing music together…

In 2013 Marin initiated the Korkyra Jazz Festival along with Lana Filippi Brkić from the Cultural Centre. They have hosted many international musicians. The Festival has also been supported by Lešić Dimitri Palace.

Today they perform as music duo called: The Borderlines. They have played up to 130 shows per season in Korčula for ten years. In the wintertime they travel abroad, sharing their love for music, each other, and Korčula island.

You can say that they are definitely an Island bound musical couple.
