Town of Korčula's Person of the Year Award

Mr. Michael Anthony Unsworth, owner of the famous Lešić Dimitri Palace, has managed to prove that Korčula can be and is a world-class exclusive tourist destination.

In 2009. Palace was restored and converted into high-quality tourist accommodation and a gourmet restaurant. It has received numerous architectural awards and in 2013 it became a part of prestigious professional Relais & Chateaux organization as one of the three facilities in Croatia. Since 2020, LD Restaurant can boast of the famous Michelin star which places it at the very top of the gastronomic offer in region. Mr. Unsworth is an initiator and a long-term sponsor of events that have become synonymous with Korčula, triathlon Marco Polo Challenge, Korkyra Baroque Festival and Korčulanske pjatance - food and wine festival.

Thanks to his outstanding business results and years of wholehearted enthusiasm for the benefit of local community, he received the Town of Korčula’s Person of the Year Award.
