KORKYRA BAROQUE FESTIVAL 2024

The 13th edition of Korkyra Baroque festival was held on the Korčula and surroundings most beautiful locations such us Vela Luka, Račišće, Pupnat, Lumbarda, Badija, Viganj and Orebić. The festival was traditionally open by greeting from our Minister of culture Nina Obuljen Koržinek with Barokna Moreška performance at Summer Cinema in Korčula. From the 1th until 16th of September all the attendees had the opportunity to enjoy numerous concerts by local and foreign artists and lovers of baroque music like: Aspettate! Adesso canto!, The Fairy Queen, Now the sun rises, Misterios del amor, Ars improvisatoria, A pochi o a molti strumenti, Mare nostrum, Battaglia, A contest of equals, Hommage a Johann Sebastian. World know artists preformed at the concerts, such as famous violinists Adrian Butterfielda from UK, Jan Čižmar from Czechia playing on lute, Spanish Julia Caballera Pereza and Finnish artist Aapa Hakkinen playing on harpsichord, Bojan Čičić on violin or Silas Wollston playing organ. Festival's rich programme has left us speechless again and we are looking forward to many more to come.
