Scenes from Korcula - The Governor's Palace
The Governor's Palace - used to stand beside the Town Hall along the south walls. It was protected by two towers, and beside it was a small garden with an espalier. After the fall of Venice the palace was neglected, and at the end of the 19th century it was completely reconstructed inside and out and turned into an elementary school. After the Second World War, during which the complex was badly damaged, it was reconstructed again for the needs of the local authorities and other institutions.
